Visiting Waterford and Tramore

Ms Garmina took us to the ferry to access the Hook Lighthouse. It was a 30 minute wait and cost E8. The distance on the ferry was so short if two ferries had been placed end to end wecould have driven straight across. We discovered later it was faster and easier to drive around-but what fun would that be?
Hook Lighthouse is one of the oldest operating lighthouses in the world. Can someone tell me why lighthouses are round? Seems like the top should be round but construction seems easier if the bottom was square.

One of our favorite Irish sites. The love tunnels formed by the touching arching trees. Should turn anyone into a romantic. We miss you already, beautiful Ireland!

Replicated emigrant ship from the mass exodus during the potato famine of the 1840's
